Life is a chance
I know, once again I am reacting to a K drama that I watched but hey how to control our inspirations.
So I am starting this blog with a feeling, I am not sure of the ending that will be delivered and how much incoherence my thoughts will have but as usual here we go.
The kicker here was a series I watched and even though the bad guy was bad I could not help but feel sorry for him
Are we all born equal?
Unfortunately I do not believe that we are born equal. I believe that some people have an earlier childhood than others and also some doors are opened because of your family.
Nevertheless the child still has to strive and make its own life.
I believe we are extremely lucky to be born in the era that we are born,
Being a women in the 21st century is definitely an advantage that we did not have even a century before.
We can vote, we can marry and divorce, we can be lesbian if we want to, I mean we can wear trousers without risking to go to jail.
There was time when a woman had to request approval to the police to wear trousers or had to have a reason such as horse riding or riding a bike.
Even though the law was not enforced it was still in the law and until 1950th after the second world war that the women wearing trousers was finally embraced and fully accepted.
Can second chance happen?
Anyway I was disgracing from my movie plot here a little with history even though it is interesting stuff.
So I was talking about the plot of my series which is similar to the story of Black Widow. Orphans being taken by evil organisation raised to be killers and/or white collar master mind drug dealers.
So those kids have no support apart from fear, suffering and learn to have no feelings and cold blooded.
In the case of Black Widow from the Avengers movies, she is already on the good side of the law, she has been rescued and now is attempting to have a good life making up for all the bad stuff she has done in the past, and we love her for it.
We only see her as a good person and in the end (spoiler in case you have 10 years worth of movies to catch up on) she sacrifices herself for the planet.
In this case she even have a fling with the Hulk, well Bruce to be more correct and we are super sad when she dies.
In this series the bad guy is still at the bad guy level but I could not stop feeling bad for him. He did not make the choice to be that way, he was a puppet of a drug mafia and actually he was trying to gain enough power so that he could escape them.
But in this case he did not make it.
Life is unfair….
So as mentioned this guy is not nice but then he meets a girl and he actually falls for her. But this girl only approached him to take him down as a drug dealer.
Again I am emphasizing, bad guy, kills people, sells drugs that kills people even though I could not stop feeling bad and dreading when he was going to find out that the girl he trusted for the first time in his life was going to betray him and did not think a world of what she was saying to him.
The acting was so good as the different in demeanor when he is bad guy and when he is with her, is litteraly heart breaking.
I know it was not the plot but I believe that with a different plot she could have changed his life for the better..
I know I am taking a series which was written and thinking how I could have changed it to same him.
He was trying to escape a tyrannic life and in the end fails and his only moment of hopes and happiness were lies.
I am still upset just thinking about it, how unfair life can be.
When live gives you lemon…makes lemonade
We all know that famous expression, that when life gives you lemon, makes lemonade.
And it is a great way to think but is it always possible?
Sometimes you look at some endings and you realise that there was no way around because the grip people had and the others life was too great or the power struggle was just too much to be modified.
I do not have real examples coming to mind only movies, series and books but still I assume there are real examples where the struggle is real for people. I mean I assume that mafias do actually exist and that getting away from that is pretty much impossible.
I get getting away from any illegal entities would be the same.
But what about entities that are legal but do not allow you to get out either because of the nature of the business like spy entities…I assume they are real as well.
So maybe it is not about the legality but the power and the secrecy being involved.
I mean Mission impossible the movies do not let the main character get out either…..so can humans be like a bug in a bug cage and you cannot escape at all?
Take a chance
So if we only have one life then you need to take a chance to give yourself the best life you can.
It has been determined that being born in a place or another can already affect that chance of happiness.
Every decision you make can change that life for better or for the worst, Some good decisions sometimes seem like bad decisions and vice versa.
A divorce can seem like a failure but can allow both parties for a new happier life.
A move from one country or town to another can seem like an opportunity to escape your past and start from scratch, same for a new work where no one knows you.
A past mistake can really stall your happiness and taking a chance in a new environment can be a great new start. But it takes courage to decide to leave everything behind.
As we know, you know what you are leaving behind you do not know what you are getting.
Anyway in the end I am still upset that he could not have a second chance, but can people who have acted terribly entitled to a second chance?
The fact that Darth Vader removes his mask, saves Luke at the end erase all the killing he has done in the past? I mean he actually blew up a whole planet….
Can you really ask for a second chance independently of your past actions?
I guess this is too much for one person to figure out and maybe each individual cases deserve their own reflections.
